Actually I have pretty much already bookended or bracked this text with notes and hyperlinks. My original inspiration was in the field of geometric religion or practices. The source is a project in The Atlantic(1) and further deconstruction involved that magazine as well.

"The Islamic State is no mere collection of psychopaths. It is a religious group with carefully considered beliefs, among them that it is a key agent of the coming apocalypse. Here’s what that means for its strategy—and for how to stop it."
Now may be just the right time to stop
or wind down my own parsing or~religions~key~apocalypse.*

The %th EleFont
Not to jump in the Lakoff, but my original heading was The %th Element*. Which was a type-oh or capital gain on taking the 5th. Well, not that far.(But maybe we will see.) The 5th Element was meant as reference to Roman numeral "v" for the sake of my table ofor con tents. But it is still to be determined what page this is.
So with this lede or misspell, it may be prophetic GeOhMeTry. i.e. Seg Way to my original intents.

Academic Freedom
Not the best heading**, let alone lede.
BTW: I don't know if I should have a disclaimer as I have "liked" Noam Chomsky on Facebook.*** Now should I wonder if he needs a disclaimer from this being on a youtube page he is featured on.
But I will note that I have only viewed about 30 seconds but find the heading provocative. And I will pull some words from a thread I contributed to recently: We can not pick the personalities of the sources(or the sources) that might influence our thinking. That does not mean that educated people can't have bad ideas, or that less educated people may not have better ideas. Nor that some people don't have a mix of good and bad ideas and that others may not be suited for choosing from them.
In the mean time(pun), that thread extended.
* I hope to find a more colorful and humorous link in my BS(blog search)
[Bottomline, not to ode on economics or hummin' resources. BTW2.0: I have two "disclaimers" considered above, one in relation to Facebook and Chomsky in regard to the "pulled" words (in grey high lite) and the other in regard to the "this" on YouTube, which I only previewed a bit. I do not claim it a fluke as that is probably the nature of the technology in another A word regarding math and search engines. Dont' trouble yourself to the fluke as it is just another "A" word.]

Bursting a Bubble.
Wind Energy vs NG
Pyramid Power?
Wind and Solar seem to be Natural Goods. Rising energy prices are seen as an incentive for alternatives. If you need rising natural gas prices to make wind or solar affordable it seems that there may be something wrong. Rising gax prices have not made nuclear affordable? I know there is no direct link there. But I must say the that it seems like bubble headed thinking. Now it may not be all about frackin' but there do seem to be risks to the environment. But the bubble I am talking about is the economic impact of any policy. Environmental impact is a cost that must be accounted for out of profits not as a cost of being at the bottom.
[A similar* pop or thought? * I am not sure where I may have misplaced the latter, but I did run into the author of the former.]

Tails Aside
I mean Tales...or mythification.
My wife and I were taking a walk before the Apple Cup (The Husky-Cougar match-up)and ran across a house divided, speaking of tents, big or united. The game was not really on my mind that morning when I whipped up the tale of Cats and Dogs, but as we walked by this house, the wind must have blown, and their flag seemed to speak for the future. Huskies won 35-28 with 44 seconds left. It was a bad week for cats which will hopefully lead to a good week or more for 44.

Triumph of the process (breaking)
Democratic opposition to seating Burris cracks. Failure of context. Saying something and acting on it are two different things. The senate has not seated Burris, while the "whys" are still wavering in the media. Race, politics, and media are undeniable factors; putting them together and forming questions and "Y"s are infinite.
[Definitively ** by Harry Reid: And apparently may "be damned"(Mike Vicara)*]
Bottom line: the senate is following its rules and making sure Illinois is following its rules and no one person is the decider, though many can have their say, and others can twist in the wind.
As for the other twisting senator; which hangs on the process as well.

Speaking as one who has been a(legal)counter and duplicator of votes in Washington State.
[* this is what's breaking live on MSNBC: as my own imaginings and search for missing links, the mention of U.S. Senate rules requiring two signatures is yet to be found, meanwhile the process is being tainted by the media incompetence. Hence the reason the rules committe will be looking at this. I could imagine this going to the U.S. Supreme Court, but it would be likely that the process the senate will take will be within their rights. Rules are not laws, but processes, that must submit to the people involved. Out of this fog, my prediction is that the vote by the full senate will rule. The fact that it may be flexible is the matter. i.e. hinges on the idea that Illinois has a space for and the U.S. senate has required two signatures. That the U.S. Senate determines its rules is the rule and voting on it may be another hinge.]

One fifth too many.
As in two sheets to the wind. Or is it three, but I won't push the drunk metaphor.
But whatever happened to the Fourth Estate? Now we have a fourth branch of government?
Whenever one gets too drunk for power you will find a fifth.
DC contractors are reported to be the fourth branch while "the press" has been neglected as an estate that merits some notice in "the will". While it is not just a case of follow the money, it could be a case of passing the buck in checks and balance.

Flip-Flop Link In Chain- or endless drain?
It seems that actually reading the Washington Post piece, Goss’s CIA still in turmoil: Lawmakers wonder why agency is bleeding talent during wartime, takes a bit of the wind out of my analysis. I was earlier intrigued by their piece, No disciplinary review for 9/11 failures of Tenet: CIA director bars accountability review for his predecessor, others.
But now I must recall the enthusiasm I had for my analysis with actual information.
Moral is an issue as well as accountability.(note two above links)
The agency is loosing it's experienced agents faster than al Qaeda leaders are being rounded up or eliminated. It is my opinion that not holding those responsible for failures accountable, lowers moral more than locating them.
Is it reasonable to expect Goss the former critic of the CIA to become a booster of the CIA? Not investigating how the intelligence was used, further lowers moral. Looking into these problems will probably lead up the chain of command which has actually been lengthened.
Not only is he tinkering with the collection of intelligence
but had been insulated from the top by a DNI
The overall problems are the collection as well as the use of intelligence. Accountabiliy in the former must lead to the latter. But adding to the chain at the top will only distance the intelligence as well as accountability from the top. As if the administration was not already at great lengths from accountability or checks and balances. If intelligence is being used in the manner I feel it is, then Congress and especially the Democrats should put a clean out in this brain drain and scoop up the intelligence experience that is being lost. That would be a legitimate use of a "plumbers" unit.
See my earlier suggestion. and further comments around that post.

Not only is he tinkering with the collection of intelligence
Among his top priorities is getting spies in the field to work more independently and to rely less on complicated relationships with foreign intelligence services. Some veterans have interpreted that push as either a disinterest in working with others or a rejection of a collection method that is highly valued inside the clandestine service. But Goss believes the agency has leaned too heavily, sometimes to its detriment, on faulty information gleaned from others.
but had been insulated from the top by a DNI
In March, President Bush chose as DNI John D. Negroponte, a career foreign service officer and ambassador in Iraq. Negroponte's office is still taking shape, and it is unclear how much control he will exert over the CIA.
But the days of an all-powerful CIA director who reports exclusively to the president are over. Goss no longer has daily access to the Oval Office -- Negroponte is now responsible for briefing the president -- and Goss must coordinate all decisions with Negroponte's office.
